Hull, Deck, and Structural Repairs:

-stripped, repaired, and barrier coated hull (Interlux 2000E)

-repaired areas of gel coat damage on topsides and sprayed new gel coat on transom

-cut out and replaced rotten core in chainplate knees (bulkheads) in cockpit lockers

-removed teak coaming, repaired and rebuilt coaming core and covered with smooth grey treadmaster

-removed bowsprit and completely rebuilt bow, adding new bow rollers and a permanently glassed in mount for the stemhead, both with substantial SS plate backing

-added a new Lighthouse Windlass and massive SS backing plate

-cut large areas of rotten core out of foredeck, side decks, and near the mainmast and repaired with marine plywood and epoxy

-removed teak caprail…grinded, glassed over, and faired hull to deck joint

-removed instruments, engine panel, and old autopilot controls in cockpit and glassed over all holes

-repaired wet core in cockpit sole and reinforced area around pedestal

-moved fuel fill to cockpit sole

-cut out old coaming boxes to make room for the new ABS plastic engine control panel and coaming boxes

-dremeled, filled, and faired all stress cracks and spider crazing on the molded toe rail and throughout the rest of the deck

-completely stripped deck of all hardware, fittings, ports, windows, hatches, companionway, etc….faired. prepped, primed, and recoated with 2 part poly (finish coats done by yard)

-replaced all opening ports with SS opening ports

-rebuilt and replaced glass in fixed windows; replaced all gasket and trim

-stripped, sandblasted (yard), painted with 2 part poly, and replaced all hardware AND lenses (lexan) on original Boma cast hatches

-painted new nonskid (Interlux) (recoated with “tougher” grip (pumice stone) finish three months later)

-added vinyl accents (Pewter and Metallic Silver)

-installed new inspection plates where the old ones were removed (SS on all but Rudder Post access)

-grinded skeg and removed foot in conjuction with dropping the rudder

-Completely rebuild and strengthened area around the rudder stuffing box with new glass, rebedded box with 5200

-reinforced the underside of bow and foredeck areas with additional strengthening layers of glass

-added layers of glass to underside of stanchion mount areas, rebed stanchions, and backed with 1/4″ aluminum plates

-rebed bow and stern pulpits with additional strengthening and backing plates

-glassed in new support structures in the cockpit lockers for much heavier batteries

-designed and fabricated new battery boxes of marine plywood and glass to hold 4 Trojans

-cut out starboard aft bulkhead and replaced with a newer, heavier duty one to facilitate autopilot linear drive install

-insulated hull and lined the insides of all cabinets, drawer, and lockers

-fabricated stainless handrails to replace Teak ones and designed a system to allow “thru bolting” of interior handrails to the exterior ones

Rigging and Sails:

-removed both masts, cut 3-4” off mainmast foot (corrosion) and had new custom step fabricated by Metalmast Marine

-replaced all chainplates with new Schaefer SS ones

-replaced all standing rigging, professionally swaged.

-All news sails in 2005 from UK Sails in Charleston and a new FX Sails Asymetrical Spinnaker

-replaced all winches (Lewmars), cleats (Schaefer, Sea Dog, etc), sheaves, and hardware on both masts

-rewired and replaced all electrical components on main mast (Aqua Signal masthead and fordeck lights)

-added Edson radar mount, Raymarine radome, and associated wiring to mizzen spar

-replaced all running rigging with New England Brand cordage

-replaced spreaders on mainmast (custom fabricated by Rig Rite)

-installed new Schaefer 2100 furler

-replaced primary winches with Lewmar self tailers and moved aft closer to wheel; backed with huge stainless plates

-added new raised Harken track traveller system and associated hardware

-revamped the outhaul and reefing systems

-installed Strong Track system on mainmast

-replaced all boom hardware and lines

-replaced all deck hardware including deck cleats and padeyes

Plumbing:

-replaced all bronze thru hulls, bronze seacocks, and transducers

-cutout forward freshwater tank and converted to storage

-cutout port and stbd settee tanks for Plastimo 50 gallon flexible tank replacements

-installed all new Tident Marine hoses for freshwater system, bilge pumps, washdown pump, and scuppers

-replaced all toilet hoses with Trident brand Sanitation hose

-removed old toilet and installed new Lavac toilet and pump

-designed and had fabricated a custom holding tank

-replaced single bilge pump with “stepped” group of 3 Rule electric pumps and one Whale manual

-installed new freshwater Shurflo pump and Shurflo accumulator tank

-installed Katadyn Powersurvivor 40E watermaker

-rebed sink in galley and head

-replaced raw water filter with new Groco

-installed new, high capacity manual Whale bilge pump in cockpit

-installed new Isotherm Stainless hot water heater on new strong points glassed into stbd cockpit locker

-enlarged shower drain to appropiate size and installed shower sump box

Electrical:

-completely pulled every wire and started from scratch

-ran new conduit behind liner in inaccessible spaces

-installed new Heart Interface Freedom 20 inverter/battery charger

-installed new Heart Interface Link 2000 digital monitoring systems for batteries and charger

-installed new SSI engine panel, all new instruments and rewired the engine

-had existing alternator marinized and rebuilt for spare and replaced with Balmar 150

-ran all new Ancor marine grade wire throughout the boat

-replaced both DC and AC panels with digital Blue Seas panels and physically separated them

-installed Newmar galvanic isolator

-added two AC outlets at nav station and one at the port settee

-installed new Blue Sea System battery switch

-installed all new, much larger battery banks (6 Trojan T-105’s for house + Starting Battery)

-installed proper namebrand marine grade fuses and breakers

-installed radar cable junction box

-installed independent Balmar echo charge

-ran Ancor Marine grade 4/0 battery cable to bow for windlass (yes 4/0!!)

-installed weatherproof 12v cig. lighter plug in cockpit

-installed two 50 watt Kyocera solar panels and a Blue Sky Energy MPPT regulator

-installed 8db omni on hard dodger for wifi antenna

Engine/Steering:

-replaced exhaust hose

-installed new Edson pedestal, guard, idler, and cables

-removed old rotary drive autopilot and replaced with Raymarine Type 1 linear drive

-simplified cable runs in steering run

-removed rudder stuffing box, beefed up with more layers of glass, and replaced bronze mounting studs

-rebed stuffing box with 5200

-added separate Edson tiller arm for linear drive autopilot on the rudder shaft

-replaced cutlass bearing

-pulled and replaced prop shaft

-installed PSS dripless shaft seal

-serviced transmission and heat exchanger (mechanic)

-pumped out old fuel and cleaned tank

-relocated primary fuel filter and replaced all fuel lines -replaced all instrument senders

-added turnbuckle to aid in tightening the alternator belt

-aligned the shaft (mechanic)

A major rebuild took place in Papeete, Tahiti in 2008. Work was completed by professional mechanic Pascal ______. This included a complete replacement of the Bottom End with a much newer Perkins 4-108 model. Ask any sailor and they will tell you three things about Perkins motors. They are reliable, easy to repair, and they always have some sort of an oil leak. This one is no exception.

Interior:

-replaced stove with a new Propane Force 10 3 Burner unit

-replaced refrigeration with an Adler Barbour Super Coldmachine and large Evaporator

-shrunk interior volume of reefer to save energy
